The University of South Florida Sarasota–Manatee, also known as USF Sarasota-Manatee, was established in 1975 as a regional campus of the University of South Florida of Tampa, Florida. Initially the university jointly occupied the campus of New College until a new and separate campus was built in 2006 for the university. In June 2011, USF Sarasota-Manatee was awarded separate acreditation by the Southern Association of College and Schools (SACS). Along with the main campus in Tampa, USF Sarasota-Manatee has one sister campus in Saint Petersburg, the latter also being autonomous.

USF Sarasota-Manatee offers over forty bachelor's degree, master's degree, and certificate programs in arts and sciences, business, education, engineering, hotel and restaurant management, and information technology. Day, evening, and weekend classes are offered at this new campus north of University Parkway on Seagate Drive in Manatee County. The campus also boasts another location in south Sarasota County at its instructional site at 5920 Pan American Blvd. in North Port, FL.
