San Francisco State University (commonly referred to as San Francisco State, SF State and SFSU) is a public university located in San Francisco, California, United States. As part of the 23-campus California State University system, the university offers over 100 areas of study from nine academic colleges. San Francisco State University consistently ranks among the top 50 master's–granting universities in the west by U.S. News & World Report.
