Founded in 1970, Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) is a comprehensive, multi-campus public institution of higher education. Lfcc is Located in the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont regions of Virginia, Lord Fairfax Community College operates in three locations — the Fauquier and Middletown Campuses and the Luray-Page County Center — that serve seven counties and one city in the area.

Students attending LFCC can obtain an associate degree and/or certificate in such areas as administrative support, business, engineering, fine arts, information systems technology and healthcare. Students who graduate from LFCC are prepared to continue their education at a four-year institution or immediately apply for a job, depending on the degree or certificate program that they followed.

According to LFCC students, some of the benefits of attending LFCC are its affordable tuition rates, financial aid and scholarship program, small class sizes and transfer agreements with four-year institutions. The beauty of transfer agreements is that students attend LFCC for two years and earn an associate degree before transferring to a four-year institution for the last two years of their education. This path to a bachelor’s degree can save students large amounts of money.

LFCC promotes equal opportunity in educational programs and activities, admission and employment without regard to race, color, sex or age (except where sex or age is a bona fide occupational qualification), religion, handicap, national origin or other non-merit factors.

Outside of the classroom, LFCC offers various student activities such as clubs, concerts, lounge events, cultural events, family events, sports and theatrical performances. LFCC has teams for men and women in soccer and basketball. These teams play other community colleges, junior colleges, and some four year colleges. LFCC also has an intermural softball team.
